Friday Night Blues - Binky Griptite

Lesson at 8, Dancing until 1am

Binky Griptite started playing blues guitar at just 14. He says he's preferred the rhythm guitar for the past twenty years because of the effect it has in getting people moving, "I would just rather they be dancing." In addition to being nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album with his band the Dap-Kings, Binky has played on records for artists like Janet Jackson and Amy Winehouse, and leads the R&B band The Mellomatics and The Binky Griptite Orchestra.

An all Levels Blues Dance Lesson will get us ready to groove and a late night DJ set will keep us dancing until 1am. FNB is New York’s longest-running blues dance event, showcasing live blues bands the last Friday of every month.
